William is an advocate for individuals, families and the community. He worked for the Community Equity Empowerment Partnership, a non-profit, which sought to close the achievement gap by helping to provide better educational and employment opportunities to the youth of South East Washington, DC. He also worked for the Center for Public Justice, a think tank, which seeks to impact social justice issues by crafting legislation targeting education and poverty issues. William also served as president of the Parent Teacher Advisory Council of Pontiac, Michigan, while attending graduate school there.
William is a member of the Silver Spring COVID Committee, a volunteer association of concerned residents that seeks to ensure all Montgomery County residents are vaccinated, boosted, and have access to Covid-19 rapid test kits. Thanks in part to the work of the Committee, Montgomery County has the highest (95%) vaccination rate in the U.S.
William's strong belief in the family structure has made him a passionate advocate for families in East-county. William and his wife, Nancy, have lived in Montgomery County for over 20 years. Their two children, Caroline and Carissa are MCPS students.
William is running for Council Member for the 5th District of Montgomery County, MD, to help provide affordable housing, facilitate job growth, improve our school buildings and enhance transportation for residents in East County.
